Harambee Institute of science and Technology Charter School has implemented a new option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for School Year 2017-2018.
All enrolled students of Harambee are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each day of the 2017-2018 school year. No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application. All the children need do is to show up to school to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch.
Harambee Institute of Science and Technology Charter School is proud to announce, in collaboration with our Food Service Management Company, the Nutrition Group, that we are providing a new way to view our Monthly Menus. It is called Nutrislice and it is interactive.
- The Nutrislice platform provides the ability to print a standard weekly or monthly menu with the added functionality to either filter the menu based on dietary needs/preferences and/or print the menu with carb counts for each item.
- The menus are now accessible online, on the HISTCS website, as well as within the Nutrislice mobile app and on Amazon Alexa enabled devices.
- The menus now display food images, descriptions, nutritional info, allergen info, and special diet info, so you have more information available to review.
