Joel Rodriguez, Ed.D.
Joel Rodriguez has over 15 years of experience working in full-time and consulting technology positions.
Joel Rodriguez is the former Drexel University Online Associate Director of Emerging Technologies, where, over a period of twelve years, he managed the technology, instructional design, and development teams. In addition to management responsibilities, Joel worked as a summer STEM camp counselor for Drexel’s School of Education. Joel continues to work as an adjunct professor in the teacher education program, teaching instructional design, social media, and website development courses. Joel also has consulted with a number of non-profits such as Musicopia, Philadelphia Regional NOYCE Partnership, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Joel’s professional interests are working collaboratively with teachers to introduce new technology into the classroom and providing great customer service.
Joel graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) with a B.S. in Communications. He then interned at Fox Philadelphia in the promotions department. After finishing up at Fox, he took a position as engineer with ABC Pittsburgh primarily working as a video editor and master control operator. In 2004 Joel was awarded a graduate assistantship at IUP in the Adult Education Department, where he worked with elementary education students developing web-based portfolios. Joel graduated with a M.A. in Adult Education & Communications Technology from IUP and in 2017 earned his doctorate in Educational Leadership from Drexel University.
